  Comments on the “Fatima Miracle” written by Richard Dawkins in his book “The God Delusion” 1 , pages 116 and 117. Dr. Chojnowski: I have suggested to Dr. Ferrin that he write an article in which he applies his astrophysical findings concerning the Miracle of the Sun at Fatima to the lame critique of the event by internationally "acclaimed" atheist Prof. Richard Dawkins. He thinks it is a good idea, since he is very familiar with the writings of Dawkins. In Ferrin's text, which can be bought at the link below, the astrophysicist of 45 years dismisses the idea of mass-hallucination. What Dawkins would find, if he read Dr. Ferrin's work, is that either Lucia dos Santos is the greatest astrophysicist who ever lived (which Ferrin says there is 3 times 0 % chance of) or she she was told about the up-coming miracle 3 months prior to the event, by one who could make the event happen ! How do the atheists get away --- I am thinking about their endowed chairs --- with being so superficial and supercilious). Dr. Chojnowski: Again we are brought to the infiltration of Neo-Manichean occult ideas and doctrines into the mental universe of traditional Catholics. Dr. Ferrin Proves that this Picture of the Miracle from the Vatican is Inauthentic. A miracle is a miracle. The physical mechanism by which it happened on October 13th, 1917 is up to God and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Why can't the Miracle of the Sun have a physical component involving a comet? Why wasn't the solar system destroyed and why did no one outside of the Fatima area see or feel the "dance" of the Sun. Note, Our Lady said that there was going to be a miracle in October, not a solar miracle. With Dr. Ferrin's research, the physical aspects of the Miracle could be explained while the viewers' experience of it would be identical to what has always been said about it. He just demonstrates that it is not, in any way, a simple "matter of the mind." Can we just let God be God and remember that Our Lady is Queen of Heaven and Earth? Dr. Chojnowski: I have followed some of the discussion of the new book by Dr. Ignacio Ferrin, who was inspired to investigate the Miracle of the Sun by a lecture that I gave in Rome in 2010 concerning the exact account given by the eye-witnesses of the Miracle.  Just like in so much that we now encounter in our mental life as Catholics, we must realize that God is much greater than we can ever imagine and His ways are not necessarily our ways. We also must realize that we may need to think more deeply about the situation that we are in as Catholics. Maybe there is more to these situations than we had realized previously.  Dr. Ferrin's book on the Miracle of the Sun is not an infallible text. It is a scientific thesis that says that it can explain the physical aspects of the Miracle of the Sun at Fatima.
