On the Day of the Eclipse --- A Meditation: The Miracle of the Sun as Proclamation of the Universal Queenship of Mary

Image
The Miracle of the Sun as Proclamation of the Universal Queenship of Mary by Dr. Peter Chojnowski Look at the Sun! On this occasion, I would like to speak of an event which has great significance for the entire world and for me personally. What always surprises me about this great miracle, perhaps the greatest miracle since the Resurrection, is how little it is known in the world at large. It should shake the very world itself. It should shake our governments; it should shake our media; it should shake our own souls. And, yet, for how many does it have this profound effect? To quote the famous French rationalist and skeptic Renan, “Miracles do not take place where they ought to. A miracle in Paris before so many of the learned would put an end to so many doubts. But, alas, that never happens. No miracle ever took place before those who could discuss and make critical judgments on it.” To this challenge and doubt, we can offer the Miracle of the Sun ...

Cornelia Ferreira's Fatima Newsletter: What the Children would endure to safeguard the Integrity of the Three Secrets

Image
In this newsletter for August,  Cornelia presents the full and authentic message given by Our Lady to the Children at Fatima exactly 100 years ago during her delayed appearance on August 19, 1917. What is profound here is not only Our Lady's message and her promise of a miracle for October, but also, the lengths to which the Children would go to protect the Secrets given to them by Our Lady --- especially, we think of here the Third Secret. When we remember how long it to Sister Lucy to write down the Third Secret in the 1940s, even when instructed to do so by her bishop, we can surmise the gravity of the theme. Apostasy in the Catholic Church --- from the highest levels, would certainly qualify as such a terrible thought to a faithful Catholic, especially children and a devote nun. Just as the Apostles' martyrdoms --- and the attempted one on St. John --- argue for the truth of what they presented concerning the teaching, person, and resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, su...

John Vennari's Thoughts on Rome's Negotiations with SSPX and the Vatican's Attempted Subversion of Catholic Doctrine

Image
Here is an article that John Vennari published in 2013 concerning his reflections on the negotiations between the SSPX and the Vatican. This article confirms what I long knew about John from innumerable conversations with him, the ones that come to mind are those which took place in Rome and those we had by phone immediately after the death of Fr. Gruner, that even though he was a consistent supporter of the SSPX until his death, he was vehemently against any agreement between the SSPX and the Vatican in the current circumstances; here he differed from his good friend Chris Ferrara who has always been, to my knowledge, in favor of an agreement between SSPX and the Vatican --- believing, as he does, that the texts of Vatican II should pose no obstacles. This was the case, even though I never heard John speak publicly about the SSPX Resistance, which I know he did not support. One concrete bit of empirical evidence for this is that he never, to my knowledge, mentioned the SSPX Resista...

Fr. Gruner in October 2014: A Man Must be Catholic in Order to be Pope; Benedict did not validly Resign His Office

To view the video clearly, go down the blog page and slide the bar to center the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3D6gV2sEnQ In a Fatima Center video entitled, "Questions about Pope Francis" uploaded on October 4, 2014, John Vennari is interviewing Fr. Nicholas Gruner. In this interview, Father is answering questions posed by viewers. The interview starts off with a discussion of the question of whether a marriage is valid even though the couple does not want to have children. However, the questioner then moves on to the topic of Francis, could he not have had "the right intention" from the very beginning of his papacy. Fr. Gruner sums up the question by posing the question to himself, "Could the election of a pope be invalid?" Are there things [that would exist or occur] which would make the election of a particular pope invalid? To this question, Fr. Gruner responds, "Yes." The first condition for disqualification considered is w...

What Fr. Gruner Actually Thought and Wanted

Image
Dear Readers, In light of the controversies currently surrounding the work of Fr. Nicholas Gruner, I believe it is my obligation to speak of what I know concerning the mind of Fr. Gruner. All of what I write here was either told to me by Fr. Gruner himself on numerous occasions or told me by my dear friend John Vennari in private conversations, either over the phone or face to face. For all of those involved in the controversy, we must remember what Aristotle said when confronted with a fundamental disagreement with his teacher, mentor, and colleague Plato, "Truth is more important than friendship"; and what are we all about but truth. First, when Fr. Gruner spoke about the Third Secret, information that he had gleaned from his many relevant sources --- whether the information given to Fr. Gruner was accurate or not I have no way of knowing, but I do know that he himself held the following to be true --- he indicated that the Third Secret included the following: 1) ...

The True Meaning of Vatican Council II: A Guest Post by Louie Verrecchio

Image
It is often suggested in “conservative” Catholic circles that the faithful - clergy and laity alike – are awaiting the day when a Roman Pontiff will provide all concerned with an official interpretation of the text of Vatican Council II. In a 2013 interview with Michael Voris (before he shifted gears), for example, Bishop Athanasius Schneider expressed the necessity of a magisterial act, in light of conciliar ambiguities, that will "give us clear, very clear, interpretations of some very specific subjects." More recently, Bishop Schneider proposed to resurrect the failed “hermeneutic of continuity” approach launched by Benedict XVI. This wasn’t the first time he had made such a suggestion. In an address given in 2010, Bishop Schneider called for “a conciliar Syllabus with doctrinal value.” He went on to say in this same address: “In the hermeneutical uproar of contrasting interpretations and in the confusion of pastoral and liturgical applications, t...

Does Jesus Christ threaten the Liberal System?: Archbishop Lefebvre thought so!

Image
Is Jesus Christ a threat to the Liberal System? Archbishop Lefebvre said He was. That is because Christ as both Creator, Redeemer and King has an absolute claim over all that is human --- including the human constitutions of states. One of the things which attracted so many, myself included to the writings and thought of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre was his fearless application of the principles of the Catholic Church and the doctrine of the Social Kingship of Christ to the political, economic, social, and historical problems of our own day and age. His fearless engagement with social and political ideas --- no matter how controversial they may have been at the time, was definitely the Catholic militancy that so many of us were looking for after the Revolution had devastated our Christian Civilization and the institutional organization of the Catholic Church in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and into the 21st century. What should we fight for ---- ON ALL FRONTS --- the Archbishop gave us an an...
