Does Image of Cork-tree "with the bark" in the text of the Vatican Released "Third Secret" Directly Point to an Explanation which Begins, "In Portugal the Dogma of the Faith Shall Always be Maintained"?

First, here is the "Third Secret" as it was released by the Vatican in June of 2000. I have highlighted the text of the Vision's account that might point to a missing explanation of the Vision by Our Lady. The Secret, as was proven, in itself, authentic by Sister Lucy Truth's professional handwriting expert, reads thus:
The third part of the secret revealed at the Cova da Iria-Fátima, on 13 July 1917.
I write in obedience to you, my God, who command me to do so through his Excellency the Bishop of Leiria and through your Most Holy Mother and mine.
After the two parts which I have already explained, at the left of Our Lady and a little above, we saw an Angel with a flaming sword in his left hand; flashing, it gave out flames that looked as though they would set the world on fire; but they died out in contact with the splendour that Our Lady radiated towards him from her right hand: pointing to the earth with his right hand, the Angel cried out in a loud voice: 'Penance, Penance, Penance!'. And we saw in an immense light that is God: 'something similar to how people appear in a mirror when they pass in front of it' a Bishop dressed in White 'we had the impression that it was the Holy Father'. Other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious going up a steep mountain, at the top of which there was a big Cross of rough-hewn trunks as of a cork-tree with the bark; before reaching there the Holy Father passed through a big city half in ruins and half trembling with halting step, afflicted with pain and sorrow, he prayed for the souls of the corpses he met on his way; having reached the t op of the mountain, on his knees at the foot of the big Cross he was killed by a group of soldiers who fired bullets and arrows at him, and in the same way there died one after another the other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious, and various lay people of different ranks and positions. Beneath the two arms of the Cross there were two Angels each with a crystal aspersorium in his hand, in which they gathered up the blood of the Martyrs and with it sprinkled the souls that were making their way to God.

RadTrad Thomist: That is the text of the Vision that constitutes what the Vatican and the imposter Sister Lucy indicated to be the entirety of the Third Secret. At first glance, this does not make any sense. If you read the 1st Secret of Fatima it is a Vision of Hell and the Damned, both angelic and human, while as the account progresses into the 2nd Secret you have Our Lady's explanation of the 1st Secret, plus her addition of the 2nd Secret about the World Wars and the Consecration and Role of Russia in the upcoming times.  The end of Our Lady's words, are clearly a transition her explanation of the Third Secret --- which completely disappears in the "Secret" that the Vatican presented in 2000.
If this text is authentic, meaning provably written by the real Sister Lucy of Fatima, is there any clues, within the text itself, that would indicate that there is something --- like an explanation to follow. Well, to date, we only have one indicate of an interpretation of the Vision presented in the "Third Secret." It is the words, "In Portugal, the Dogma of the Faith Will Always be Preserved." Is there anything in the Vision that would point to the preserving of the Faith and, also, to Portugal?
Well, yes, there is. The faithful and the hierarchy, heading towards martyrdom, are moving towards a Cross, which is clearly a symbol of salvation as this is had THROUGH A PRESERVING AND STEADFAST HOLDING OF THE FAITH IN SPITE OF PERSECUTION AND EVEN THE THREAT OF MARTYRDOM.
The Cross, towards which the faithful head, is described as "rough-hewn" and made out of what seemed to be "cork-wood" trees that HAD THE BARK. Significant? Let's see. Here is a Wikipedia account of the Cork-wood oak tree:

The cork oak forest is one of the major plant communities of the Mediterranean woodlands and forests ecoregion.[3]
Natural stands of cork oak can support diverse ecosystems. For example, in parts of northwestern North Africa, some cork oak forests are habitat to the endangered Barbary macaqueMacaca sylvanus, a species whose habitat is fragmented and whose range was prehistorically much wider.[4] In Western Europe, particularly in Portugal and Spain, the cork oak forests are home to endangered species such as the Iberian lynx, the most critically threatened feline in the world.[5]
As a pyrophyte, this tree has a thick, insulating bark that makes it well adapted to forest fires. After a fire, many tree species regenerate from seeds (as, for example, the maritime pine) or resprout from the base of the tree (as, for example, the holm oak). The bark of the cork oak allows it to survive fires and then simply regrow branches to fill out the canopy. The quick regeneration of this oak makes it successful in the fire-adapted ecosystems of the Mediterranean biome.[
Portugal accounts for around 50% of the world cork harvest.

My SPECULATION: Could this critically placed detail in the Vision itself point to an explanation to follow that could logically begin, "In Portugal the Dogma of the Faith Will Always be Preserved." Could the Cross symbolize a "rough Church" which the Remnant would be moving towards only to be martyred, their blood enhancing the spiritual journey of the others who follow in their wake? Why does the 1st Secret have an explanation --- even though for most Hell would not have to be explained --- and, yet, the Vision given with the Third Secret stands completely unexplained, and ambiguous BECAUSE unexplained. Wouldn't a living REAL Sister Lucy be able to tell us that there WAS an explanation of the Vision given by Our Lady that began with, "In Portugal the Dogma of the Faith will Always be Preserved." If it was significant that Portugal would preserve the Faith, would it be such a stretch to say that in most places the Third Secret predicts that the Faith WOULD NOT BE PRESERVED (i.e., universal apostasy --- in other words, our own times)? Would perhaps the "fire" of apostasy, which the angel threatens the world with, burn everything except for the Cross which is "fire-resistant"? Perhaps the faith of the Remnant, which is preserved thanks to the intervention of the Mother of God? Again, mere speculation. But if this text is authentic, which apparently it is, there must be something else that is not being given to us. Clear.

  1. Wasn't the spot where Our Lady appeared to the three children at the Cova above a holm oak tree?

  2. The one ("azinheira") is "quercus ilex L", the other one ("sobreiro") is "quercus suber"

    1. An excerpt from the book "The True Story of Fatima" by John de Marchi I.M.C., 1947:

"Two kinds of oak grow in Portugal, the azinheira and the carrasqueira. The azinheira is the Quercus ilex, famous in classical literature. It is one of the most ornamental oaks, compact and regular in form, beautiful in its glossy foliage the year round. Its acorns form one of the edible sorts in Europe.
The carrasqueira is the Quercus coccifera. It is a small evergreen about three feet high, with glossy and sharp foliage, and does not give acorns. It was over a carrasqueira that Our Lady appeared at Fatima."

If this is proven information, it would be a sensation, because Abraham the Patriarch hosted the Three Angels under an oak belonging to the same species of Quercus coccifera!
In Mamre there were 3 Angels and Abraham, the Father of the Faith.
In Fatima there were 3 children and the Holy Virgin ... the Mother of the Faith. This is an amazing analogy.
Abraham's wife Sarah later gave birth to a son, Isaac, Hebrew 'Yitzchaq' meaning "he will laugh, he will rejoice".
Who will our Mother the Holy Church give birth to? The second Comforter! Rejoice!
This is the principal subject of the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin in Portugal in 1917A.D.
One more analogy - In Mamre: 3 Angels and Abraham. In Fatima: 3 Virgins and little Francis - whose prefiguration is this lad?

  3. Excellent analysis on fire resistant Cork trees. Since Our Lady´s visits to the 3 children of Fatima were preceded by lightening the Cork trees would be resistant to fire from lightening as well.

    1. Hello, fellow Anonymous. Yes, Lucia did say the children saw flashes and a ball of light over a small holm oak tree (azinheira) preceding the apparitions. The holm oak is a holly tree. Does it also have fire resistant cork bark like the cork oak?

    2. The cork volume is composed by 88% air. Is this an indication of some important year? Of a spiritual "killing"?

  4. The statement, "In Portugal the Dogma of the Faith will always be preserved", has perplexed many Catholics for a long time. Without calling into question the authenticity of the statement, everything points to the opposite regarding the faith in Portugal. The Portuguese clergy seem to be as progressive as anywhere else in the world, or even more so.

Abortion was legalized in 2007, and Portugal is a world leader for LGBT rights. In 2009, support for same-sex marriage in Portugal was 40%. Although there was strong opposition in previous years, from conservatives and religious groups, once it became law in 2010, support for it rose significantly in the polls. Portugal was also recently named one of the world's most LGBTQ-friendly travel destinations--along with Canada and Sweden.

Portugal's population is 90% Catholic, however, only 2 million out 10.6 million describe themselves as practicing Catholics. Witnesses observe that many Portuguese laity have kept some external traditions of the faith, such as processions, etc., but not the interior element.

It must be honestly concluded that no one really knows what the phrase means, "In Portugal the Dogma of the Faith will always be preserved".

  5. "In Portugal the Dogma of the Faith will always be preserved" as cited by Fr. Kramer the foremost expert on Fatima that Portugal will be dismissed by the Anti-Christ as not being important and left alone to its own fate unlike the rest of Europe which will be dominated by him.

    1. Fr. Kramer's opinion, expert or not, is just an opinion. In no way does it explain, nor can it explain, the empirical evidence for the anti-God condition that Portugal is in.

The word "always" means "every time; on every occasion; without exception. Forever." It must be honestly concluded that no one really knows what the phrase means, "In Portugal the Dogma of the Faith will *always* be preserved".

  6. It seems like some Catholics are becoming too dogmatic about the phrase, "In Portugal the Dogma of the Faith will always be preserved". The different interpretations some are giving it are far-fetched and not based on reality. This is eerily similar to what some Protestant fundamentalists make of their false doctrine called the "Rapture".

We're on solid ground when following Sacred Scripture and Tradition on the End Times.
