Apostasy With Mushrooms: New Organic Ways of Denying the Resurrection of the Body

Dr. Chojnowski: Luke Perry, teen idol of the TV show "Beverly Hills 90210 which played in the 90s, died at the age of 52 in Burbank, CA with a net worth of $10 million and a media description as "one of the most charismatic stars of his generation" --- my generation, by the way. His death and subsequent burial are what attract our attention here. Today, Perry's daughter, revealed that he had been buried in an "eco-friendly" "mushroom suit" (See picture of one above.) Here is the article about the newly developed suit that allows the body of a person to be broken down, toxins removed and filtered back into the soil (I almost typed the word "soul" --- big boo boo these days). The process is called mycoremediation and it ensures that your decaying body will not harm the earth when it decomposes. Whereas the old idea about bringing a him body was to bury it in such a way that the natural elements did not take it over and destroy its human form and remains, the "mushroom suit" is designed to do the very opposite. Look at the lady in the mushroom suit above and the wonderful mushrooms she hopes to become one day!
Just so we can get some perspective on how different this Neo-pagan attitude differs from the Catholic doctrine and quintessential hope of the Resurrection of the Body --- mirroring the resurrection of Our Lord's Body, we might look at what St. Thomas Aquinas says about the destiny of the body and man's relationship to it EVEN AFTER DEATH.
In the Prima Secundae (I-II) "First Part of the Second Part" of the Summa Theologiae, in the section which is referred to typically as the "Treatise on Happiness," St. Thomas in Question 4, Art. 6 asks the question as to "Whether Perfection of the Body is Necessary for Happiness?" After saying that a good disposition of the body (i.e., a healthy body) is beneficial for the exercise of a life of virtue, he speaks of "perfect Happiness" and asks if perfection of the body is necessary for it. Initially countering the "dualists" and the Manichees who denied the goodness of the material world and the purposeful creation of man as body and soul by God, he states, "But speaking of perfect Happiness, some have maintained that no disposition of the body is necessary for Happiness; indeed, that it is necessary for the soul to be entirely separated from the body....But this is unreasonable [Notice not just "theologically unsound"] For since it is NATURAL to the soul to be united to the body, it is not possible for the perfection of the soul to exclude its [i.e., the body's] natural perfection....Consequently, because from the Happiness of the soul there will be an overflow on to the body, so that this too will obtain its perfection. Hence Augustine says that God gave the soul such a powerful nature that from its exceeding fulness of happiness the vigor of incorruption overflows in the lower nature."
There you have it. The body, according to orthodox Christian doctrine, will rise on the Last Day and share in the state of the soul. Let not the deadening stupidity of the Hollywood elite and their nihilistic self-hatred, cause us to forget the reason we don't burn or mushroom or dismember the human body after death. Because it waits in expectation of a resurrection on the Last Day which will cause the body of the Just to share in the perfection of God and the Glory of the Risen Christ.

ReplyDeleteSome other names for this are: Gnostic, Cathar, Albeginsiac... feel free to add. For example Mormon belief also has heavy elements of such dualism and all belief that your body is alien, "not you" but some other thing, essence or nothing at all except merger with the void - rather than the very manifestation of your nature - essential to making you complete. From this it is that the liberal insists that people ought not to be judged by how their bodies look because some cruel, evil, cosmic deity (called Demiurge by Gnostics) 'trapped' the 'real' person inside like in a foreign shell. For Cathars death is not a punishment for sin but good because it destroys the body and 'gives back' to the 'earth' as if man were a thief by existing and subordinate to the natural realm rather than its crown and master.
Utterly heretical. Now wonder good Christians threw a Cathar witch down the well.
Identifying the enemy is important because Gnostic heresy is able to hide under the veneer of Christianity in such acts as cremation and contraception. E.g. sprinkling the ashes pathetically over some natural place in a bizarre act of anti-humanity.
I'm writing this because it is at the base of liberalism, leftism, anti-smoking, anti-alcohol, anti-meat, global warmism (weather changeism), depopulation and some such fake concerns for natural goods that hide the utter Gnostic hate for human body and legitimate material goods.
Just wondering if now it would be a sin to eat mushrooms. Will mushrooms be placed on the pantheists' (i.e., Bergoglio and the Modernist Vatican II den of satan) list of endangered species? Save the whales, save the snails, save the migrants, etc ... kill souls.
