Diabolical Collusion, Not "Diabolical Disorientation" Dr. Chojnowski: Below is an article by Fr. Nicholas Gruner from 2006 in which he speaks about the "diabolical disorientation" that was "Sister Lucy's" explanation of the Crisis in the Catholic Church post-Vatican II. When Fr. Gruner indicates what he understands "disorientation" to mean, he uses the example of a person in a strange room waking up at night, in the dark, and not knowing where anything is. He stumbles around and bangs into things and thinks the closet door is the exit door to the room, etc. We have all had this experience. We remember and expect one thing and yet our mental habits that have governed our waking up at night in our own familiar room are not adequate to deal with this new situation.
