Introduction to A Critical Study of the Novus Ordo Missae "The Ottaviani Intervention"

Image
This is a preface that I did a few years ago for a new translation of the Ottaviani Intervention published by The Angelus Press. For those still attending the Novus Ordo please consider the issues raised here for the good of your own souls and for the souls of those that are dear to you. The opening quotation cited below is critical for every Catholic to keep in the forefront of their minds. It is evident that the Novus Ordo has no intention of presenting the faith as taught by the Council of Trent , to which, nonetheless, the Catholic conscience is bound forever. With the promulgation of the Novus Ordo, the loyal Catholic is thus faced with a most tragic alternative . This statement, made with absolute and definitive clarity, from Section VI of the Ottaviani Intervention , was made in response to what might be considered one of the most critical moments in the history of   the Catholic Church since the original Pentecost Sunday, the traditional worship of the Roma...

Fatima through the Lens of Vatican II: As Illustrated by Raymond Cardinal Burke by Cornelia Ferraira

Image
Here we go again – Fatima suffers another round of distortions and doubletalk, courtesy of Cardinal Raymond Burke’s May 19th speech at the Rome Life Forum. In established modernist style, it is an intriguing blend of truth and novel errors. Rash euphoria greeted reports of his talk, entitled “The Secret of Fatima and a New Evangelization,” but sober analysis of his actual words reveal a disturbing picture. First, some background: the talk took place during the Jubilee Year of Fatima (November 27, 2016-November 26, 2017), a year featuring countless projects commemorating the Fatima Centennial. Now, as observed, in the special “Years” celebrated by the Holy See, the object being honored is simultaneously subjected to a revision and an “updating” that weakens traditional beliefs and practices. For instance, in the Year of the Holy Spirit, my Archdiocese (Toronto) announced it would make the Sacrament of Confirmation more special by doing all Confirmations on the same day. This being...

No more "Ladies and Gentlemen"!!

Image
As a follow up to our recently posted article on "Masculine Etiquette". It seems as if this is the signal that Great Britain as we have come to know it ---- is no more. Content originally published at iBankCoin.com The London Mayor, Sadiq Khan, in conjunction with the gay rights group, Stonewall, scored a major victory today by banning the phrase "ladies and gentlemen" from the vernacular used by London Transport employees. It's simply not in touch with the times, as genders defined by the DNA helix are old hat, worn, and not the reality that is supported by the far left. More on this important, groundbreaking, civil rights "victory" for the "gay" class. The phrase "ladies and gentleman" is to be scrapped from announcements on the Tube in a bid to make them gender-neutral. London Underground staff have been told to instead use greetings such as "good morning everyone" to ensure that all passengers fee...

Masculine Etiquette: Should Men have Manners?

Image
GENTLEMEN AND HOST Before beginning an article dedicated to the topic of "masculine etiquette," it will likely be necessary for this author to jar his reader from two tacitly-held presumptions which the majority of readers are likely to have. This will be done by my making two claims. First, the topics of "etiquette," "hospitality," and "manners" are not at all peripheral matters for those concerned with the restoration of all things in Christ. Indeed, when the above social and moral realities are infused with sanctifying grace and revealed truth, we can truly speak of the hospitable and well-mannered man as Catholic culture "walking."                The second presumption that this article will dedicate itself to eliminating is the one which holds "etiquette," "hospitality," and "manners" to lie solely within the domain of womankind. Not satisfied with merely applying these conce...
